New Music: LORDE - Team

Rising New Zealand singer-songwriter LORDE has released another track titled "Team". It will be on her upcoming debut album "Pure Heroine", which is set hit stores and digital retailers on September 30th. Her debut track "Royals" is currently sitting at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, now she's giving fans another taste of they'll be getting on the album.

The singer spoke to Billboard about the song saying its about her early years in New Zealand.
"No one comes to New Zealand, no one knows anything about New Zealand, and here I am, trying to grow up and become a person", she told Billboard. "I've been countering that with going to New York and seeing this place that's in every movie and every TV show. Part of me wanted to go back to writing for me and for my friends and write something that I felt related to us a little bit".

5/5

Every song this girl seems to put out somehow tops the one before. Her newest release "Team" is dark and is very synth-heavy. Besides enjoying the creative production, I think you'll be more mesmerized from the uplifting message of the song. It contains some honest lyrics about rebellious youth, it tells her stories about growing up and living without apologies. Another impressive song, I would very much would like to see this become the next official US single.

Listen To: Oh Land - Wishbone [Album Stream]

Danish singer-songwriter Oh Land a.k.a. Nanna Øland Fabricius has released of her highly-anticipated album "Wishbone" via TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek label Federal Prism. It features collaborations from Sia, Dave Sitek, many others. This project is the follow-up to her 2011 self-titled album.

The sound on this album has taking a turn, but for the better. Her signature dreamy ballads can still be heard on the record. Some of the beats give the album a pop, rock, hip-hop, and a little bit of R&B vibe.

Video Premiere: Samantha Jade - Firestarter

2012's Australian 'X Factor' winner Samantha Jade premiered the music video for "Firestarter". It serves as first official single from her upcoming third album, which is scheduled to be released later this year via Sony Music Entertainment.

Its a nice simple black and white visual. Still don't like how the DNA Songs produced song sounds so much like David Guetta could've produced it. I was very unimpressed and from what I can tell, she has a really good voice. She needs to get with producers that will bring her showcase her true vocal talents.

The single is available to purchase on iTunes now.

LORDE releases "Tennis Court" with B-Side "Swingin' Party"

Back in June, LORDE released her second single "Tennis Court". After gaining huge success in her home country, the singer branching out into the international market where she plans to continue promoting her music. Her first EP "The Love Club" included her #1 hit (New Zealand) "Royals" which also peaked at #3 on Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the US Alternative chart.

5/5

"Tennis Court" was written both by the singer and Joel Little, who also produced the song. This is a downtempo 80's-influenced Indietronica (Indie electronic) track showcasing LORDE's signature vocal styling, over these deep and breath taking lyrics. The second track "Swingin' Party" is a amazing cover by The Replacements'. Didn't even know it was a cover of someone else's song. It's that good, I thought it was an original piece by her. Can't help to compare her style and lyrics to the likes of Lana Del Rey and Charli XCX. But of course she isn't those artists and never will be which is a great thing, because LORDE is her own artist.

Buy LORDE - "Tennis Court" [Single] - HERE

The 16-year old New Zealand singer-songwriter has also revealed the music video for "Tennis Court". In the visual, she looks quite creepy and intimidating. She's staring into the camera with the song playing in the background, occasionally LORDE smiles and also opens her mouth to say the word "Yeah" during the song.

Her debut album "Pure Heroine" will be released on September 30th.

Katy Perry releases promotional Hip-Hop track "Dark Horse"

While her single "Roar" peaked at #1 on Billboard Hot 100 and is currently sitting at #2, Katy Perry has released a new song titled "Dark Horse" featuring Memphis rapper Juicy J. The track is the first promotional single released as part of the iTunes countdown for her upcoming third album "Prism", which is set to stores and digital retailers on October 22nd via Capitol Records.

3/5

Produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin, "Dark Horse" is a mid-tempo track with a trap-infused beat. Katy is taking on a different sound that pushes her outside her comfort zone and I applaud her for that, but there's something about this I'm not feeling. She did a great vocal performance, but the arrangement during the verses and the chorus don't sound right to me. Its like they matched a trap beat with a pop flavored arrangement..........just doesn't make any fucking sense. And then there's Juicy J. I have no idea what he was talking about nor could I remember what he said. Wasn't needed on the song.

The track is okay, its no more than a album filler in my opinion.

When you pre-order Katy Perry's new album "Prism" on iTunes now, you get the track "Dark Horse" instantly.

New Music: Luke James - Love No More

Luke James is currently in the studio putting the final touches on his debut album "Made To Love", which is expected to be released later this year. With no official release date set for the album, the singer revealed a unreleased ballad "Love No More".

4/5

"Love No More" was penned by Stacey Barthe and produced by Hit-Boy. Luke expresses his sorrow and emotion as he sings about letting go of a relationship that's not working out. It's a nice offering, expecting something ever better on his upcoming debut.

Video Premiere: BTS (Bangtan Boys) - We Are Bulletproof Pt2

Rookie idol hip hop group BTS (Bangtan Boys) released the music video for "We Are Bulletproof Pt2.

The group consists of seven members who possess multiple talents in rapping, singing, and dancing, but they can also compose, write, and produce music. They made their debut this year with "No More Dream" and their first single album "2 Cool 4 Skool".

"We Are Bulletproof Pt2" is the second track from their EP "2 Cool 4 Skool". I liked their debut track, but this is really what they should have originally went with in the beginning. I lot of groups claim and say there a hip-hop group, then when you hear the music it doesn't show that. They label themselves as that and has backed it up with their music.

The music video is very raw and features the group's awesome choreography.

J. Holiday debuts new sexy single "After We F*ck"

Since the release of J. Holiday's 2007 debut "Back of My Lac" featuring the hit singles "Bed" and "Suffocate" and second album "Round 2", some people would say he's been on a hiatus or maybe even left the music industry. Since those two albums, the singer-songwriter has released a mixtape "M.I.A. - The Lost Pages" and several independent singles. Fans have been waiting and waiting for his official comeback to the music scene.

He was originally signed to Capital Records and left in 2010, then signed with Def Jam Records, but left the label in 2012. Now J. Holiday is an independent artist and has been writing and recording his upcoming third album.

His new album "Guilty Conscience" and is currently scheduled to be released on November 11th. The D.C. native has also premiered a new single titled "After We F**k" aka "After We…".

4/5

"After We F*ck" is a steamy track strictly for the bedroom. Its explicit, but content in the lyrics doesn't go overboard. Going from "I'ma put you to bed, bed, bed" to something more straight forward, sensual, and sexy isn't too shocking. So far, the reception of the song has been positive and is leaving the fans wanting more material.

Like her debut track "Heaven", this gives me lot of Beyonce (which is not a big deal). The song is really good, the opening alone gave me chills. I highly recommend this to anyone who love singers how can sang they asses off.

Crayon Pop releases digital single "Bar Bar Bar" + Reveals music video

Girl group Crayon Pop returned in June with their fourth single album "Bar Bar Bar".

The story version of the music video featured the members bullying boys for their money, but an a funny comedic way. The second video was filmed in various places around Seoul. It has become extremely popular due to the catchy tune and the choreography their doing in the visual, which has created a new dance craze.

"Bar Bar Bar" was written and composed by Kim Yumin. Before they came back with this track, Crayon Pop was an after thought to some people when the group debuted last year. With the song being so successful, the girls achieved goals and received opportunities. Besides  their popularly level being at a all time high, they managed to peak at #3 on Gaon Chart and #1 on Billboard K-Pop Chart (which the group's past two singles failed to do), they won very first win on Music Bank, and recently signed a deal with Sony Music Entertainment for future activities.

Introducing: LORDE

16 year-old singer-songwriter LORDE is from New Zealand and has took over the music scene with her song "Royals" earlier this year. With "Royals" not only topping several charts in many countries including her home land New Zealand, its currently sitting at #3 on The Billboard Hot 100. She also became the first female solo act to top the Billboard Alternative Songs chart since Tracy Bonham in 1996. When public hear music that has a unique sound and lyrical content, you can't expect to not ask questions. I thinks that's the case here, people heard it for the first time, loved it and wanted to know more about her. You won't be able to categorize this as a typical pop track, its very experimental. The song is influenced by indie pop, pop, ambient, and blues. It incorporates different genres to create a new sound.

Back in March, she released her EP "The Love Club" on iTunes. This is the singers first musical release since being discovered at the age of 12 by A&R scout Scott Maclachlan, who signed her to Universal Records. The EP was a commercial success debuting at #2 in New Zealand and Australia. It also peaked at #23 on The Billboard 200 Album Chart, selling 60,000 copies in the US alone.

LORDE co-wrote and produced all of the music on the EP with New Zealand musician-songwriter-producer Joel Little. Just like her debut single "Royals", this body of work received great reviews amongst music critics. The songs lyrical content and LORDE's vocal performances became a hot topic for them. Other music critics and music bloggers like myself compared her to artists like Sky Ferreira, Florence & the Machine and Lana Del Rey.

LORDE whose real name is Ella Yelich-O'Connor is preparing for the release of her debut album "Pure Heroine", which scheduled to hit stores and digital retailers on September 30th.

With her having that amazing voice and writing talents, you wouldn't think or guess she's only 16 years old. This girl definitely has a long career ahead of her, if you thought "The Love Club" was good, just wait for that debut album. I'm ready to be slayed are you?

New Music: Jessica Mauboy - To the end of the earth

Australian singer-songwriter Jessica Mauboy has released her new single "To the end of the earth". It serves as the first single from her upcoming third album that will be released later this year via Sony Music Australia.

4/5

"To the end of the earth" was produced by LA based production team Captain Cuts, who's known for remixing songs for Britney Spears, Ellie Goulding and Marina & The Diamonds. Within the last year or two, I've been aware of Jessica I just never gotten around to listening to her music. From what I've read, the songstress is switching-up her musical style from Urban-pop to dance pop. Since I hearing her new single for the first time, I wanted to write and say what I thought about it. This girl has some powerful pipes and surprisingly it doesn't take over the heavy dance production. The genre fits her soulful voice and I can deal with her switching up her sound on her new album. I'm totally loving her voice, if it sounds good here, I can only imagine how good it sounds over Urban beats.

Little Mix debuts their new single "Move"

This morning, UK girl group Little Mix premiered their new single "Move" on Nick Grimshaw's BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show. The track serves as the first official single from the group's second album, which is set to hit stores and digital retailers in the UK on November 11th via Syco / Columbia Records.

The album is the follow-up to their successful debut album "DNA".

3.5/5

"Move" was co-written by the group, at the moment I don't know who produced it, but is sounds like a Neptunes or Pharrell produced track. The production is very wacky and different, these days you don't get too much of that in music. The beat I love, however the lyrics especially in the chorus was lacking. With a bouncy beat like this you have to match it with unforgettable lyrics.

The single will be released in the UK on November 3rd, while the album is currently scheduled to arrive a week later.

Gabriella Cilmi's new album "The Sting" to drop November 4th

Three years after her second album "Ten", Australian-Italian singer-songwriter Gabriella Cilmi is back and plans to release her third album "The Sting" on November 4th via Sweetness Tunes. Following 2009's "Ten", she parted ways with her management and label Island Records.

Talking about the new album Cilmi says: "I was searching for a sound that reflected the way I felt inside, which was quite vulnerable, and traumatised. I wanted it to sound the way Italian neo-realist photographs look, that post-war, ruined glamour which is really gritty and heart-breaking, she continued. I was listening to a lot of Trip Hop, that 90s Bristol sound, Portishead and Tricky. But also singer-songwriters I had always loved, Neil Young, John Martyn. And old soul records, Bessie Smith, Otis Redding. It all went in there".

This album is a departure from both look and electronic sound that was heard on her last album. She said Portishead, Neil Young, and Otis Redding were the inspirations for the new album. Its expected to be more soulful and less synthetic, which is the total opposite from the electro background that "Ten" had.

Earlier this year, Cilmi announced the upcoming release "The Sting" with the teaser buzz track "Sweeter In History". The first official single from the project is title track "The Sting" (available on iTunes now), the second single "Symmetry" will be released on November 11th.

Michelle Williams follows up the soulful comeback single "If We Had Your Eyes" with a new track titled "Fire". Its the second single from her upcoming album "Journey to Freedom".

2/5

The Harmony Samuels produced track is infused with reggae, R&B, and Gospel. "Fire" had some interesting elements to the production, but the lyrics aren't that catchy for me personally.

SPICA releases 3rd digital single "Tonight" + Reveals music video

Girl group SPICA returns with their third digital single "Tonight".

The girls decided to give the fans a new sound as well as a new look for the music video. It also features a appearance for their label mate and mentor Lee Hyori.

"Tonight" was co-wrote by Boa, along with their mentor Lee Hyori. Lee Hyori's involvement didn't end at helping writing and producing the track. She was their for the recording, the styling, album jacket and music video filming. SPICA can't do no wrong when it come to giving the best vocal performance, so I expected them deliver. Their showcasing a new sound for this release, which is a dance mixed with rock. Not my favorite song by them, but I would rather play the hell out of this than "I'll Be There".

New Music: Adina Howard - Switch

After a long hiatus, Adina Howard is back with her new single "Switch". The singer is preparing to release her first album in six years titled "The Switch Up", which is scheduled to be released soon.

4/5

"Switch" is the first single from Howard's upcoming album. Unlike her previous material, this proves Howard can sing about other things besides sex. The track upbeat and has a nice clapping beat in the background which makes it sound fun. She talks to her man about how she is changing things and what lies in store for him. This is very refreshing and I'm glad she's moving away from the sexual music. Not to say I didn't like that music, but its not something everybody wants to hear all the time.
