The TASTY twins recently made a second comeback this year with a new song "Day'N Night". It looks like their not taking too much of a break between releases, compared to last year. Three months after the release of their second single album "Spectacular" and title track "MAMAMA", the duo returned with a digital single "Day'N Night".
The boys are trying out a different producer and sound for this track. Rphabet has produced TASTY's previous singles, but now they've decided to go to producer Heuktae. He's also the vocalist in a group Retro Bomb. The production is heavily 90's inspired, this style of music isn't heard too often in K-Pop. It has a nice combination of drums, synths, guitar riffs and one thing I love the most was them or their agency not relying on auto-tune. You can hear their voices much more clearly, compared to the previous releases. Speaking of vocals, the singing was weak at times and it was veryyy noticeable at least for me. I see the duo as a performance group or artist and usually when you label someone that, your not concentrating on how good he or she voice is, your attention is on the performance (Dancing and etc.). I'm certainly not saying the twins sound horrible, they are well-trained in singing, rapping, and obviously in the dancing department. But the vocals displayed in the track fell short at times.
The music video was interesting, it had an cinematic theme. It featured some great sceneries, the visual was filmed around in Hong Kong. When you start to watch, half-way through you'll probably have a conclusion already drawn up in your head. In the story, they fight over a girl, but it ends in a twist.
Also check out the the performance version of the video, which showcases their awesome dance skills.
